Chasing Waterfalls: Portland, Oregon

Waterfalls.
They're really something else.
They're beautiful.
Majestic.
Powerful.

Just 45 minutes from Portland, you can find dozens of waterfalls in Multnomah County.

Multnomah Falls:  You can easily park and walk to Mulnomah Falls.  It's huge.  So big that it takes your breath away when you see it.  It's one of the biggest in the U.S..  Just know before hand that it is really crowded.  I recommend making the hike up to the top of the falls.  It's a little steep and will probably take you 20-45 minutes to get to the top, but the view is beautiful from the top.

What's better than one waterfall is that you can explore the area and see several waterfalls in one day.  We hiked for half the day and literally saw a half a dozen waterfalls.  Some were close to the road that you can just happen upon while driving and others require that you hike deep into the mountain.

My personal favorites of the area were Triple Falls, Silver Falls, but they're all so beautiful!

Other waterfalls that are accessible by car:  Lautorel, Horsetail, Bridal Veil Falls.
Other notable waterfalls in the area: Wahclella, Punch Bowl Falls, Fairy Falls.

Get out and explore!
