I don't know about you, but for me, somehow food in the U.S. seems too sweet and too salty.
I remember thinking this after moving home from living abroad in Italy and China several years apart from one another. My students also have expressed this same thing to me. So, I shared Valentines Day sugar cookies with them. They liked these cookies because they aren't too sugary.

They wanted the recipe, so i'll post it here. I usually double the recipe.
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Chill the dough for 5 minutes
Cook at 425 degrees for 6 minutes
Enjoy!
